1 year ago today, I became engaged to my best friend in the whole, wide world.
It's a very funny story to him and I and I'm sure that people won't find it as funny as we do, but here it is.
I was flying back to Tulsa from spending a week with my family in Idaho. Aj had to stay home to take care of some buisness and work. It's almost 1 in the morning mind-you. I get off my plane, text Aj while I'm walking towards the baggage claim to let him know that I had landed safely and would be waiting for him at baggage claim #3.
I arrive at the baggage claim and no Aj in sight. I wander around for about 15 minutes and still no Aj. Now I'm getting upset and scared. It's almost 1:30 in the morning, it's a 2 hour drive to McAlester, there's construction everywhere!! As you all know..I'm a bit of a emotional person, I start crying. Sitting there at the baggage claim, by myself. I call his cell phone and it rings and rings. Now, I'm starting to freak myself out. "He's been in a wreck...He ALWAYS answers my calls"
2 am rolls around and out of the corner of my eye I see someone walking towards me and it's Aj, dozen red roses in tow. After many hugs and many kisses he told me that he had read my text messages as baggage claim #8. (He's not acting like himself at all, I did notice that he seemed to be nervous about something and kept looking around)
We headed out to the car to get a start on the travel home, he stops dead in his tracks when we get to our car. I'm not really sure what is wrong with him, so I start putting my luggage in the car..I want to go home and go to bed. He takes my hands and tells me to "stop" and looks me in the eyes and what do I say to him....."Aj, don't make a scene" SERIOUSLY MELISSA!!! I'll never forgive myself for that! He continues with his very rehursed speech and takes my ring finger and slips the sweetest little ring on my finger. He says to me " I promise to marry you someday" I don't remember anything after that...I took it as him giving me a promise ring, but really that was him proposing! A couple days later he asked me how it felt to be engaged and I looked at him with a shocked face!! So that is my engagment story and I couldn't ask for a better man to be spending the rest of my life with.
[W]hen you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. ~Nora Ephron, When Harry Met Sally

Wow 2 Years Already!!
My how time hauls butt! lol
It's hard to believe that Aj and I have been in Oklahoma for
2 years here in just a couple days!!
The random homesick episodes are getting better, but I'll always
call Teton Valley home. Oklahoma is just a place that I'm living in
for awhile. Aj and I both hope that one day we'll be able to live in
the Valley again.
A brief update on us...
Aj and his Dad expected to move their Drywall company back here, well
somethings just don't work in other places. People want things done cheap
and when they're done cheap...well you get cheap service. So the Pinecreek
Drywall has been put on the back burner for right now.
Aj is working for a Auto Parts store called O'Rielly's. He is the Assistant
Manager, but soon will be Managing the store. He enjoys the people he works
with and enjoys working with car parts and helping people with their questions.
I moved here and got a job within the 1st week we were here.
I worked at a local Bank up until the end of this July. Now I'm working at a Law Firm. Edwards Law Firm I enjoy it very much, it's pretty laid back for the most part and I work with wonderful people! The job right now is a reception position, they'll be introducing me to Quick Books, which I'm very excited for. I've always wanted to learn Quick Books.
We lost our Ti Baby in 2009. I miss him so very much and think about him everyday.
Some people don't understand how an animal can become one of your children. He was my 1st baby boy and always will be.
After getting over the heart ache of Titan, we rescued a Pit mix puppy from a local Vet and named him Levi ( Titan's name that the vet gave him when Aj adopted him in 2007), so it had a special meaning. Levi is a BIG Momma's boy. He's such a sweetheart and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. From what the Vet told us...He's 2 years old. He's about 75-80lbs and has finally found his bark, well it's kind of a retarded howl/bark. He sounds really stupid doing it. He never barks unless it's at Cows or I'm home alone and someone is knocking on the door. Usually he'll whimper and whine.
We rescued another puppy, her name is Lilly and she's full Boxer. She's a small little thing. She's a loving, licking, bouncy ball of joy. She's a daddy's girl.
She loves me too, but is Aj's buddy.
So we've got 4 legged children, 2 cats and we're just living life.
